Finke River Sunset – There was no way I could resist taking a panoramic image of this great scene. Initially this site could be easily overlooked. It would be all too easy to overlook the somewhat standard looking river, be unimpressed with ordinary gum trees and feel uninspired with the dry grass. But standing at this vantage point I was able to see how altogether the arid landscape was actually incredibly beautiful. I waited for the sunset in order to capture the added element of vibrant colours and the result was what you see here, magnificent mountain ranges, a landscape of different shades of green and gold and a reminder of the necessity of life-bringing water in the foreground. I hope you likewise can see the beauty in this vast and diverse country.
