Horse Head Rock

From $140.00 AUD

Tucked away along the picturesque Sapphire Coast of New South Wales, Horse Head Rock in Bermagui has become a hotspot for photographers and nature enthusiasts like myself. Despite the challenges of navigating tide levels and sharp rocks, the sheer grandeur of this natural marvel is truly awe-inspiring as I find myself standing in its imposing shadow.

Just a stone’s throw from the iconic Camel Rock, Horse Head Rock presents an exciting opportunity for photography, with captivating scenes awaiting exploration at every angle. Racing against the setting sun, I hurriedly set up my gear, eager to capture the beauty of this rugged landscape before the Milky Way graced the night sky with its presence.

As I framed my shot, the rugged coastline and crashing waves provided a dramatic backdrop to the unmistakable silhouette of Horse Head Rock. With each passing moment, the interplay of light and shadow transformed the scene, creating a dynamic canvas that begged to be immortalized through my lens.

Despite the challenges posed by the terrain, the thrill of capturing such a mesmerizing landscape was exhilarating. With each click of the shutter, I felt a sense of connection to the natural world, a fleeting moment frozen in time for all to admire. As darkness descended and the stars began to twinkle overhead, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to witness such raw beauty in all its glory.

Reflecting on my experience, I marveled at the resilience of nature and the profound impact it has on our lives. Horse Head Rock serves as a reminder of the untamed beauty that surrounds us, inviting us to pause, reflect, and appreciate the wonders of the world around us. As I packed up my gear and bid farewell to this extraordinary location, I knew that the memories captured would serve as a lasting reminder of this awe-inspiring journey.

Taken at Horse Head Rock, Bermagui, New South Wales, Australia.

Metallic Paper – Print Only

Matt’s Limited Edition and Open Edition prints are printed on Chromajet Metallic Pearl produced on an Epson 9070 inkjet printer. Chromajet Metallic is a flat, stiff, middle-weight paper with a metallic effect gloss finish. The paper has a neutral white base and an instant dry, micro-porous coating. This paper has a wide colour gamut and a high D-MAX which delivers beautiful images, both in colour and B&W. It produces extended contrast, exceptional colours, deep blacks and clean whites. This technology results in what are arguably the highest quality photographic prints in the world.

There are two types of Acrylic Facemount options offered by Matthew Duke Photography.

Acrylic Facemount – Premium

Acrylic face mounting is one of the most impressive and striking ways to display your photographic print. Your print is mounted behind acrylic and the back is covered with specially treated aluminium. This process will completely protect your image from front to back. Your image is mounted edge to edge and creates a beautiful frameless finishes. Each piece is professionally finished with hand-polished edges. We use 4.5mm optically clear, Museum Grade Acrylic which has 99% UV protection.

Acrylic is extremely safe to use, as it is shatter resistant and provides exceptional protection from sunlight, weather and temperature extremes. Once hung, your print floats approximately 16mm off if you follow our simple instructions for hanging your new facemount. You can be assured that you will receive an absolutely perfect, high-quality finish. The result is truly spectacular.

Acrylic Facemount – Standard

For those on a limited budget, we have introduced this option to provide a high-quality product that is still affordable.

We still use a 4.5mm optically clear piece of Acrylic and the print is printed on a high-quality metallic paper. This option is much lighter than the Acrylic Facemount – Premium product as it uses a white vinyl backing instead of treated aluminium.

While the finish is not as premium, our customers are absolutely happy with this product. As the finished product is much lighter it is more cost-effective to ship and easier to hang when it arrives.

Matt uses the highest quality Epson UltraChrome HDR inks and Hahnemühle Leonardo Canvas for his canvas prints. Each order is custom made to order by hand and will arrive assembled to the frame ready to hang. You will not be disappointed with the outstanding quality. Canvas prints are by special order only.
