Description
Cradle Mountain Sunrise – Cradle Mountain National Park – The sky was full of clouds before the sun had risen above the horizon and there was no sign of Cradle Mountain. With the sun starting to shine above the horizon and light up the surrounding mountains the clouds suddenly opened up revealing Cradle Mountain. I was very grateful as they dissipated at the right time so that the mountain was visible. With a wonderful still morning, the reflections were equally beautiful in Dove Lake in the foreground with the well known Dove Lake Boathouse ever-present, helping to frame the shot and provide a bit more interest.
Tasmania is an amazing part of Australia, that is seemingly untouched by humans in so many areas. With high rainfall in some areas, National Parks such as Cradle Mountain National Park is lush with wonderful plants, trees, and animals. It is like going back in time before cities destroyed these beautiful parts of the world. With many walking trails and areas to visit, make sure you allow plenty of time to stop and smell the flowers, so to speak! But be careful also as it really is the great outdoors, with plenty of risks to those who are unprepared, especially with rapidly changing weather patterns high in the mountains. Some days you may not even see the sunrise at Cradle Mountain as it is often covered in clouds. There is a helpful webcam that you can use as well before you venture from your comfortable accommodation.
This print looks amazing in the Acrylic Facemount option.
